Oh so glad it's Friday

kikoteiI swear, it's like fate has it out for me this week.
Twice this week I've been very nearly hit by other drivers who just weren't paying attention or just didn't give a shit. One driver didn't like the lane she was in, they were stopped to turn on to the highway, and she decided she's rather be in the lane going straight even though I was already there. >_< The second jumped a red at the intersection, which wasn't so bad as I was the only one in the intersection at the time, so I just scurried over a lane like I was gonna do anyway. It was two lights later where the back of her SUV nearly took out the front end of my little car because she wanted to be where I was. I know I was probably in her blind spot, but I doubt she even tried to look.
Arg! I'll go months without problems. Then I'll have nothing but close calls for days.
Now my time at work is nothing but crazy and annoying computer issues. My station at work has just about had it. The damn thing doesn't have NEAR enough memory to run the programs I use. It barely has the memory to run the circulation program. Some tightwad got the bare minimum RAM that the company suggested for running the software. So god forbid I try to run Dreamweaver or Photoshop while I've got the circ stuff running. And best yet, even though the machine is 4+ years old, I can't get it replaced anytime soon. And even then I'll probably have to wait until the machine is very literally dead before I can replace it. The only option I have is to wait until the person who handles the ordering of parts gets back so I can get some pricing on a new thing of RAM.
Soooo not happy. It's all little stuff, but it's still a pain in the rump.
Oh, and you wouldn't think the library would be the place to be on a Friday afternoon, but apparently I was wrong. It's nice to know that we're doing something right and the general public seems to like us fairly well, but the shear volume of people in after 4:00 makes it impossible to actually get anything done before closing at 5:30. It's exhausting. Especially since I was alone on the floor from opening this morning until almost lunchtime. If the counter was working right I think we saw at least 550 people over about 8 hours. Which is starting to become the low end of our daily totals. I hope I sleep like a rock tonight.
