I just got a summons for Jury Duty. And not in Waterbury, which, despite it not being in the county I live in, is closer. Nope. Instead I get a summons for New Haven. For 8:30 in the morning, which means that a 45 minute drive will turn into at *least* an hour and a half. And I'm not familiar or comfortable with that side of the city either. I think I'm going to bully my father into driving down there with me some Saturday afternoon so I can get the lay of the land.

Date: 2005-11-11 02:36 am (UTC)I remember my turn this May -- what a pain! You would think that lawyers wouldn't like people with legal training on their juries. But I suppose that given the concentration of law degrees in the Washington metro area, if you tried to get rid of them, you'd lose a hefty chunk of your jury pool. ::snerk::

Date: 2005-11-11 05:45 pm (UTC)I'm hoping I don't get stuck on a jury. I've got some big financial stuff coming up in the next month. I figure both the holidays and my student loans starting up are going to sap my accounts for a bit.
