Rat bastard bookstore clerks.
Feb. 20th, 2006 07:43 pmI've been ripped off! And it took me almost a month to find out. ::growls::
I stopped at a Borders a couple of weeks ago. I had a gift certificate to blow and a need for an arm load of manga. Big plus in my favor was the sign on the stacks that said buy 4 get the 5th free. Sweet. Unfortunately the jerkass clerk mis-rang the whole thing and I ended up paying for the whole thing, the only thing he did right was the gift certificate. I thought the price was a little fishy, but I'm not that fast on the math and didn't call him on it.
Fortunately I was waiting for my brother to finish looking for a magazine so on a whim I did a quick count and found that he had charged me for the two freebies. Arg! Rat!
So I flagged a manager and asked her to just double check for me. And then I showed her the signage on the cases that said "Buy 4". So she had another clerk ring two of the books as returns. I figured all was well and left.
I get my monthly statement this weekend and see that I was charged the full price. No corrections, no adjustments. >____< Now I have to go to the store this week and demand they fix it. I even checked the receipt and see that the kid who supposedly returned the books did them as a return and then sold them back to me.
The bookstore in town doesn't pull this shit on me. But then again, they also know me by name and tell me what new stuff just came in the moment I set foot in the store. ^_^;;;

Date: 2006-02-21 04:13 pm (UTC)Sadly the local bookstore is a corporate ministore (Waldens). And the Owner/Manager is a prude. There's a lot of books she won't stock simply based on the title. Like "Bastard"! But then they stock smut like Level C and Wild Rock. ::scratches head::
