I both hope and dread that bad things come in threes.

I'm at two for this week.

This afternoon, I left for work about 3 hours early. I had a meeting at our computer service headquarters at 2 that I needed to get to and I had to pick up one of my co-workers so we could get there at time, as she's not a local.

Well, I got out to my car and went to open the door, only to realize I didn't have my keys. Therefore, I was locked out of both the house and my car. If I had left the car unlocked, I could have just gone to work and not worried. So I had to break into my house.

Tromping through the snow over my ankles, I finally made it to the laundryroom window (with my shoes now full of snow). After quite a few minutes of banging, prying, and shouting, I got the screen up and the window up. I was tempted to do through the top portion of the window, but the laundry room is in one of those half sunk basements.... it was a LONG way to the floor.

Eventually, and after pulling something in my back, I got in the house and got my keys.

And you thought that was the end. Ha! I got to work and my co-worker (I refuse to call her my supervisor until she grows a backbone and supervises) is no where to be found. Turns out she went to the bank. She eventually showed up and we were 10 minutes late for the meeting. >_< At least I got to drive and listen to my music. Small payback I suppose.

I need porn.

Unfortunately we leave that window unlocked for the most part. At least until my youngest brother starts driving. He's forgotten his house keys quite often.

And in all honesty, there's nothing *worth* stealing in our house. They would probably feel sorry for us and leave $10.

And the neighborhood is actually pretty safe. There are quite a few stay at home moms and dads on our street. We've called it the nosey neighbor network. ^_^;;;

on the whole leaving keys in the locked car thing...
i once left not only my car keys locked in the car...in the ignition, but i also wisely put my spare key in my purse...in the car...that was locked...
best part of all? i was at work, and didn't find this all out till i got off at 12midnight on a wednesday night...and then a cop showed up to help me out...and i prayed he wouldn't notice my expired tags ^_^'

he didn't...and eventually my car got unlocked...but man...oy

Yep, that was my problem too, excluding the midnight part. I left all my my school stuff in the car and locked it up. Figured I was leaving again soon, why drag everything in the house, only to drag it back out.

All my spare keys were locked in the car.

Last time I locked myself out of the car was at the bank. My cell was in the car and I asked the people in the bank if I could make a local call (right down the freakin' street) to get a spare set of keys dropped off. They refused. Jackasses.

Oh yeah, I've locked my keys in my car -- twice in a single week, in fact, and once with the engine running. I was driving an old Toyota Supra at the time and the poor locksmith had conniptions trying to pop the door latch due to the arcane construction of the door. -_-
