kikotei: I’m toumyu trash (Gear)
Lately I've been so wretchedly sleepy that it's hard to get anything done. I even find myself yawning and blinking like a barn owl at work, which is kinda hard to do as it's one rockin' place for a library most days. As I write this now I'm finding it hard to stay awake and approximate human speech patterns. Much less spelling. >_<

I'm wondering what causes this sleepiness. It's not the amount of sleep I'm getting. Most days I get a solid 6-8 hours of sleep. And then I have a hard time waking up. One day a week I have totally free of work or class and sometimes I find it hard to even open my eyes, even though I'm used to getting up at 7:30 everything single morning. It's not that I don't have anything to do on those days, I have grand plans for my days off. Which usually get riddled full of bullet holes because I can't wake up until *much* later in the morning.

I started wondering if maybe it was my low blood pressure (not so low that it's dangerous, just low enough to be a nuisance) and/or my rather low hemoglobin count (which I only found out about recently [thank you so much, mother] and explains why those mean nurses poked me with needles far more often that was strictly necessary).

At first I thought it was the low blood pressure making me sleepy, but turns out that sleepiness is not a typical symptom of low blood pressure. Fainting and dizzy spells are.

So I look to the hemoglobin for answers. Turns out that breathing problems are most associated with low hemoglobin counts (and mine are so hideously low I think they check to make sure I'm not dead. bastards) which I certainly have those in abundance.

Still doesn't explain the sleepiness though...
