I was just tooling round looking for a release date for Crisis Core, with no real luck, GameStop has a pre-order date of March 1st. But I'm not sure how good of a date that might be, so I went to check GameFAQs to see if they had any new info up. They do have the English cast listing already, which is a good sign that we might actually see CC in early 08. But the best thing was scrolling through the rest of the cast list.

Gackt is listed as the seiyuu for the character Genesis. 

I'm not sure whether to die of laughter or fangirlish giggles. I'm not completely sure it's him. It's been a while since I've heard his speaking voice, but the face map for Genesis does bare a resemblance.

It is indeed another FF game. Backstory for 7 actually. It's supposed to cover Zack's stuff, I think from around the time he gets promoted to First Class 'til Nibelhem, and then the end of the game ties right smack into where 7 originally started.

Genesis is definitely modelled on Gackt, so it's no wonder that he's the seiyuu.

The Sephiroth, Genesis, Angeal fight has several Genesis lines, so you might be able to confirm this. I can't tell, because I've got a lousy ear for voices.

I had to pop in my copy of Moon Child, 'cause it's been a while since I've heard Gackt and it does sound very much like him. ^_^ Hah!
