The Weekend
Apr. 13th, 2003 07:53 pmLimited productivity, again. You would think with my one day off on Saturday I would get things done around here. But no!
I did however manage to get Harry Potter 2 on DVD relatively painlessly and relatively cheaply. Would have been better if my DVD player cooperated and stopped getting all pixelly. Twice during the movie the pixels went nuts. -_-
Processed 531 books at work in about 4 hours in the relabeling project. Go me. That's my new record. Too bad there aren't enough books left in the special collections to try to beat my record. Oh well.
Would have been a better weekend if I hadn't woken up this morning with a sore throat. Bloody hell, my brother gave me his cold. I was doing so well keeping my allergies under control without medication and now I can't breath properly and swallowing is a bitch. >_<
The total topper to my weekend was my mistake in watching the news the other day. Stopped to watch a few minutes of Fox or CNN, one of those, not that it really matters. There was this old guy on from Forbes talking about how Iraq has the potential to be a great democracy and used Japan as an example, saying something to the effect that a few years with an occupation force and Japan is one of the greatest examples of democracy out there. Yeah, well that may be true, but democracy seems to be destroying some of the traditions and values that make Japan Japan.
Just when I didn't think we couldn't get any stupider.
