I may just finish writing this chapter tonight! I've got some connecting stuff to write between what I worked on this afternoon and the chapter end I had written umm, what, a year ago. Heh, I hope what I wrote a year ago isn't too markedly different from what I wrote today.

It's just a matter of getting the hang of how I want this tough-as-nails homicide detective to sound without getting too cliche and out of the realm of fanfic realism. My only real experience dealing face to face with anyone like that is in a court room setting, which isn't very realistic at all.

Also, Holst's Planets series makes for good writing music. Everyone should try it once. It's like Classical Lite. ::grins::


EDIT:Holy crap. I just finished chapter 2 and nearly doubled the length. Of course it's still not a typical novel length chapter, but it's pretty long for me.

I wanna get it out, so I think I'll post first and deal with what I missed later. ^_^ Fortunately I believe I got most of it already. What's left to fix is probably my crap-tactular punctuation.
