Pardon My Moment of Shallow
Apr. 11th, 2007 09:39 pmBut holy shit.
I'm starting to go grey.
I'm not even fucking 30 yet stupid ass body!
Mom didn't start to go grey until she was 40-ish damnit!
RAAAR!!
Damn... what do I tell mom... She's coloring her hair and now her daughter is thinking the same.
Now I have to ponder color. Which is hideously expensive, especially considering that just a hair cut at the salon I use is expensive. Fortunately I have time to ponder this thoroughly. My hair had enough natural highlights going on that it should hide the grey for a few more weeks until I need a hair cut and can ask my stylist her opinion, but I need to make up my mind as the base color of my hair is *dark* brown.
Thank small favors that at least it seems to be coming in silver or white and not dishwatery.
I need either booze or good tea.

Date: 2007-04-12 02:05 am (UTC)It's not really that many, but with my hair so dark, they tend to stand out like a neon sign. ^_^
I'm probably blowing it all out of proportion, but I wouldn't be me if I didn't flip at the littlest things. ::grins:: I can't really see the back of my head, but if my coworkers haven't said anything, then it's probably not noticeable.

Date: 2007-04-12 02:13 am (UTC)You know me, I'm probably just blowing the whole thing out of proportion (which I do so very well), but until the trip to Tokyo, I didn't notice any. Then all of a sudden, I'm finding them left and right. I plan on asking my stylist next I see her if she's been noticing them. ^_^
I'm also pondering just not bothering and seeing what color they turn. I'm all for it if I turn white or silvery. And yay for me, my hair is thick enough that pulling the *really* noticable onces isn't going to do any real damage.

Yeah, 'bout the yellowish thing, I haven't noticed that on my mother. She's a bit overdue for a touch up on her color. Her grey looks about the same as it did before the coloring. Though it's hard to just. I'll take a closer look at her head later. ::grins::

Date: 2007-04-12 03:24 am (UTC)I'm fencing a bit on the color. On one hand I can see the potential fun of coloring (without sarcastic tones, heh), but on the other hand I'm a cheap, lazy bitch.
come to think of it, I haven't seen my natural hair color since my freshman year of high school.
::grins:: I had wanted a new hair style in high school, and I told mom I wanted something like one of the characters on an anime poster, forget what series it was, but considering the timeframe it was possibly Sailor Moon. First words out of her mouth was no crayon colors.

Date: 2007-04-12 05:04 am (UTC)Oh, I hear ya... I went to a professional colorist for about a year, and loved her. She was great, always did a marvelous job, and was just very cool to talk to. Unfortunately, her rates were sucking my bank account dry, so I started doing it at home, myself. Honestly, home hair color really isn't as scary as you might think. Just remember, if you're uncertain about two shaeds, go for the lighter one. It's easier to even out too-light dye than to strip too dark dye, and less expensive, too. Also, do the strand-test, it will help you gauge whether or not you like the result you get, never trust the chick on the box. Why, yes, I have learned all this the hard way, why do you ask? ^.~
