Photoshop is evil >_

Photoshop is the evil monkey on my back. I'm working on banners for my redesign on the archives. I'm trying to put a selection area around Yami Yugi (drool) in order to mask it and make the rest of the image transparent. I've done it many times before, and never had any problem, but tonight for some reason, Photoshop is being evil. The damn thing delays and or doesn't notice the shift key when I make an addition to the mask and I loose the entire freaking thing. Mou.... I've done it three times now, and I still haven't gotten it to work. At this point though I surrender, I have to be in work early in the morning, but fortunately it's a short shift and I'll start again by early afternoon. I hate doing graphics. I really do.
