I have returned!
Feb. 27th, 2006 11:16 amI went to Comicon in NYC this weekend. And I definately had fun, even better that I got in for free with the Professional pre-reg ::grin::. Although my stomach was rebeling all weekend. It's finally starting to calm down now. I have no idea what caused it though, I'm wondering if travel in general just wraps my stomach in knots. ::shrugs::
Anyway,
genkisakka,
vox_angel,
eldritch48, and I all spent the weekend in the city. I got to try Korean food while we were there, and now I'm pissed as hell that there are no Korean restaurants around here. ::pouts::
I didn't buy anything for our collection at work, mostly because I wasn't sure that anything I bought for the collection would be reimbursed to me. I did however get a freebie from one of the small indy publishers when I explained why I wasn't going to buy anything for work (Pro badges had our professions on them). Which was really very nice of him. I'm definately going to recommend that we buy a few more titles off that label.
I also picked up some stuff for myself. ::grin:: I couldn't help myself. I picked up volume 2 of Saiyuki Gaiden ::squeee!::, the special edition of Loveless 6, the Gravitation novel (but I'm annoyed, I was too late to cancel my order from Amazon, so if anyone wants a copy I've got an extra one for shipping and a couple bucks for the book itself), FMA anime artbook 3, and best of all the soundtracks for FF7: AC and KH2. The FF7 CD is fantastic, definately recommend that one.
I'm only about halfway through the first disc and the songs are really very good. I don't know if this happens to anyone else who reads my LJ, but when I hear a really good piece of instrumental or orchestral music my skin starts to tingle just a bit, especially my head and neck. The first two tracks on this CD definately did that. ^_^ I can't wait to take this to work and force it on my coworkers. Seeing as they won't bring in CDs. ::evil grin::

Date: 2006-02-27 05:35 pm (UTC)Tough call on what I liked the most. I certainly had a good time at the couple of panels I went to. Some were a little dry, by Kevin Smith was a riot, the Avengers movie was alright, the Viz panel was okay but dry and nothing really new and exciting accept for a new line (which they barely announced titles for), the Marvel Ultimates panel was pretty amusing, and the Comedy Central panel was good. I had a good time haggeling with some of the dealers though. I got a manga and dvd for $20. ^___^
