I'm a freak magnet. I tend to attract the attention of people I would rather not being paying attention to me. Dirty old men (like in their 70s and 80s), drunks on the street, scary con boys who want hugs, and now the tops... I'm beloved of incarcerated rapists.

I'm completely serious here. I've hit a new low. I'm getting letters from guys in jail for sexual assault on a minor. He mailed me after apparently seeing my picture in that newspaper article. ;_; The one thing I have going for me right now is that he mailed it to work, so he doesn't know where I live.

Anyway, I called the cops, fortunately (?!) got a cop that knows my mom, and he called the prison and the Deputy Warden was going to bring the guy in and tell him to knock it off. He said if I get any more letters to call again and if it's the same guy they'll put him in segregation so they can monitor his mail.

That's about what I've been thinking all day. I'm trying to convince myself that this whole day has been a cookie induced dream/nightmare. But I know it's not.

But I did have a good laugh about it with one of my coworkers full of very inappropriate things to say in public. ^____^

What the fuck?!? I'm so sorry that happened to you. ::HUGS:: There are some people who simply do not deserve the privilege of communicating with the outside world.

(Of course, I happen to think the scum who wrote that letter doesn't deserve the privilege of oxygen either. But I'm admittedly biased on that particular crime. -_-)

I'm twitchy about it but determined to tell socially inappropriate jokes about it over lunch with my coworkers and their husbands (who seem to have declared themselves as supplimental father figures ^___^).

Me too. That's one thing I have to be grateful about living in a small town (even if it's bad as a teen) the cops probably know you on sight. ^___^ The cop that I spoke with actually lives right across the street from where I work.

I think everything will turn out okay. If he does try it again the Deputy Warden said they'll put him in segregation so the prison can screen all his mail.
