I beat that bread machine at it's own game. Ha!
I've been struggling all summer trying to get a decent loaf out of it. Either the yeast is bad or I miss an ingredient. And it's nearly impossible to find the pre-done mixes anymore, some of which I LOVED like the Hawaiian sweet bread. I have to see if I can track down a recipe to make it from scratch.
Finally I think I got everything right. I have fresh flour, new yeast packets, and I made absolutely sure that each and every ingredient made it into the tray in the correct order. And it smells sooooo good.

And this one (http://bakingsheet.blogspot.com/2006/02/cooking-school-hawaiian-sweet-bread.html).
You would obviously have to adjust the order of the ingredients to use with the bread machine, but that's do-able.
Oh, also, I've been meaning to talk to you about that mad plan I had to make little cross-stitch versions of your chibis. I'll try to remember to email you later. ::will probably forget in the next five minutes::
