Work stuff
Aug. 31st, 2007 01:16 pmI just got passed up for a promotion, but I'm not going to get upset about it. I'm disappointed, but mostly in myself. I definately had more than enough experience for the post, but I'm lacking that one piece of paper that makes all the difference. So I will be happy for the co-worker who is getting it, despite the fact that I've got seniority, she's the one who finished the degree. So there.
But my boss did try to end it on a more positive note that now she has more control over job descriptions and grade levels and such, so I could get more in the next year or two.
Also on the front of the staff member who blew her stack and got fired. She is/was back to finish out the programs she started. But from the sounds of things she may have shot herself in the foot yet again. We've just heard through the proverbial grapevine she's been chatting with patrons (some of whom can't keep their mouths shut) about why she's leaving. But not the PC personal reasons excuse. She's giving them her side of the meltdown. Just without the part where she called us all names. So she may be leaving sooner than she expected.
