Sooooooo very tired
Aug. 10th, 2007 09:57 pmToday was the last day of summer reading, and after working with about 930 kids on our reading incentive program, and the last minute blitz of raffle tickets, stickers and the end of program party I am so very dead.
Fun thing though, we did two karaoke parties. One early in the day for the younger kids, which was just shy of screamingly funny, and a night karaoke party for the teens. I stuck around for that one, and as we have a policy to leave in groups from the building I didn't get out of there until all the kids had rides home and the room was reasonably clean. That means I was at work for more than 12 fucking hours. ::dead::
At least the kids had a good time, but next year we're not letting them call out of town friends to join them. I locked the doors once it got dark, and shortly after that 3 much older boys came up saying they were supposed to meet a girlfriend for karaoke. ::snort:: You are sooooo not coming in boys.
I did sing Bon Jovi with some of our more outgoing girls. And I wore my Gravitation t-shirt, as we always sing at least one Gravi song at karaoke, but I knew the guy wouldn't have any. Although I did find out later that he would have taken our CDs or ipods to play. Must remember that for next time as we'll probably have him again.
