Mad painting genius let loose

kikoteiMom's taken to repainting the dining room, which with the way the upstairs is layed out means that you have to paint the living room, stairwell and hallway. And in this case the kitchen and breakfast nook too.
So, Mom's been looking at colors and finally picked something last week. It was supposed to be gold, but it looked more like beach sand than gold. Even my aunt, who is all up with chic home decorating, said the color was too faded. And mom has a tendancy to lean toward faded and pale colors.
So I told mom to try a color that I found in a sample book. Dorset Gold. She was fencing on it and finally picked up some samples the other day. Today we put it up. It's absolutely lovely. It's very warm, like a butterscotch or honey color. And it's bold, far more than she would ever pick on her own.
So now the dining room, living room, hallway, and stairwell are going to be this Dorset Gold and all of the trim will stay white. And mom's told me I'm in charge of picking colors.
Bwahahah!
After much pondering I've decided on the color for the kitchen. A couple years back we painted the office a very very very pale lavender. And as purples are the compliment of yellows per the Benjamin Moore color wheel, that it what the kitchen and nook will be.
I've also decided that all of the light switches, electrical plates, and cabinet fixtures need to be antiqued brass, as the antiqued brass looks so very bright on the gold.
I am having WAY too much fun doing this. ::grins::
