Summer madness begins a month early @_@

Summer is one of those times of the year that work becomes a madhouse. What with double and triple the number of program, the reading incentive program and people just wanting to get out of the heat.
And it's started way too soon this year. It's supposed to start at the end of June. The END of June. today felt more like a mid-July sorta day with the shear volume of people and program related monkey business. ::dies:: At least jury duty was cancelled for the rest of the week. Sadly I think I make more money going to work.
And on to better things. ^_^
Book Review: Eragon & Eldest by Christopher Paolini
If you haven're read these yet, what the hell are you waiting for. I'm so kicking myself for not picking them up when I saw them, now I'm jonesing for the last book in the trilogy.
Significantly better than Harry Potter, it follows Eragon and the dragon Saphira as they learn to work together to stop the evil Emperor (snrk) and possibly reestablish the Riders (teams of dragons and humans or elves), if they survive the battle. If I decribe anymore I'll give everything away in my blathering.
Anyway, if you haven't read either of these, get your behinds to the library or the bookstore and pick them up. Considering that the author started writing these when he was about 15 (I think he's in his early 20's now, 21 maybe??) I'm very very impressed with his style and skill as a writer. It reads better than most of the fantasy novels out in the last few years by adults, both in the books for kids and teens and the ones for adults.
I'm trying to read the 'Alex Rider Adventures' books right now. Boys in maybe 3rd or 4th grade and up are all over these. I'm not terribly impressed four chapters into the first book, it's a bit too dry for me. Especially since I stopped reading 'Dead Beat' by Jim Butcher, which leaves me snickering at possibly inappropriate moments, to look at these.
I think I'm going to take a break from my ever growing stack of books to work on my website, which as been horrifically ignored. ::weeps for it::
