Books and Fees
Jun. 10th, 2004 05:03 pmExcuse the work bitching. I'm just so fustrated right now.
I work with careless idiots. Really I do. Not a lot of them, just one or two. Enough to occasionally screw things up and leave me with a huge mess of paperwork to straighten out and back track.
I've spent the last two days clearing books off the new shelf to make room for the new additions that we'll be getting in a few weeks. Just on reflex I always discharge the book to make sure that it isn't still on some one's card and that the record is clear. I came across one that cleared as a an item that was lost and paid for.
Now not only are we not supposed to use that lost and paid function if some one comes in to pay for a lost book, but this was back in February! That means the money is processed and I have no recourse to give the patron back their money, which for a hardcover book like that had to have been at least $15-17.

Date: 2004-06-10 02:54 pm (UTC)Go beat them over the head with a NERF bat, you'll feel better. ^.^
I love your icon, by the way. I've been introduced to FMA and I do believe I'm in love.... *grins*
I hope to be sending my artwork along to you soon. It would have already been there, but the art store cancelled my matt order because of low stock and decided not to tell me until today(so I have to find them somewhere else) and Otakon has YET to put up the art show forms.
I will be sending some kind of forms for you with my artwork, but you may end up having to fill out the official Otakon forms with the info when you get there if they don't get those forms up before I ship my art. I hope that's ok... I'll include my cell number with my stuff so you can call me for any info I haven't included.
Is that ok, sweetie?
hmmm. Nerf
Date: 2004-06-10 04:12 pm (UTC)Ahhh yes, FMA. ::puuuuurrrr:: I've even decided to make a Roy costume for Otakon this year. hee. ::brain wanders off into FMA fantasy land:: mmmmmm, Roy/Ed. *_*
That real nasty of the art shop not to tell you about the mattes. ::waves the nerf bat threateningly:: I've been keeping an eye on the forms just to see if those slackers have caught up.
As far as the rest of that it sounds good to me. Even the forms come up within enough time to post them to me that would be fine too. But as long as I have something to wave in their obnoxious little faces. Every year they get lazier and slower. I'm tempted to email the art show coordinator and pester him myself.
Re: hmmm. Nerf
Date: 2004-06-12 09:23 pm (UTC)Sorry it took me so long to reply. *heh* Yeah, I'll be sending you a letter of agent permission. You'll have to date and sign it, but it grants you permission to act as my agent for the duration of the con on all business regarding my artwork.
I'll also be sending you 2 checks (for fees and return shipping) made out to you since the con only accepts cash or charge and not check. I'll also include a note with my cell phone number on it in case you have any last minute questions when dealing with the art show staff.
Thanks so much for doing this for me, sweetie, I really appreciate it!
*hugs*

Date: 2004-06-13 11:30 am (UTC)Okay on the letter and the checks. As far as the cell number I think I still have it from when I was down in your neck of the woods, but probably best to send it anyway, just in case.
No problem with doing this. Otakon's a pain in the mikta and anything to make it easier for my friends.
::HUGS::
