Title: Boy Meets Boy
Author: David Levithan

This typically would not have been a book I would have picked up. I'm not a huge fan of romances. Although I have been known to read them occasionally if the plot catches my eye. This one did. It's kind of like a gay version of "Saved by the Bell". The main character, Paul, decided when he was five that he was gay. And thank goodness he lives where he does. His particular town is really very open about sexuality and gender issues. There are a few exceptions, but for the most part the parents are willing to let their kids be who they want and be with who they want. After Paul comes a veritable circus of odd friends. Infinite Darlene, star quarterback and drag queen; Joni, Paul's best friend; Tony, who's parent's won't let him leave the house unless he's going on a date with a girl; Kyle, the exboyfriend who thinks he would rather not be an ex; and Noah, the new boy who just may be the love of Paul's life.

After that follows a very typical teen romance with atypical characters. Certainly not a great peice of liturature, but a fun read. Especially if you wanna read about cute little schoolboy love. ::snicker::

Also an interesting read if you've been following any of the news about gay marriage rights.

Next: Pendragon 1: Merchant of Death. If I can finish it. @_@
