Cookbook fun

I am having way too much fun with my bento and attempting to pack it. And I emphasize the attempt. But it's all kinds of stupid fun, and I'm eating much healthier for it. And seeing

pkoceres' fabulous bento makes me want to try harder.

Anyway, I found a cookbook. It's a little lot dumb (thank goodness I borrowed rather than bought), but it's got some decent recipes with a few substitution in the case you can't find something and simple methods for making things without having to buy special tools.

I'm going to have to try a few of the things. Like dango (if I can find decent rice flour) and making hard-boiled eggs look like hatchlings.
