madamhydra has a really good statement about the appology from the Six Apart CEO, so I won't repeat what she said.

What kills me is that they reacted irrationally. They simply suspended without actually checking the content of these journals. If it was a matter of journals not listing their interests properly, wouldn't it have been easier to flip through some of the content then contact the journal owner/moderator to help them clarify. 

But that would have been too easy and a clear example of rational, logical, adult behavior. Instead they lashed out in a panic.

Good one guys. 

Technical goofs and random blackouts we can forgive you for. Acting like complete asses. Not so easy to forgive.

Same here. I'm gonna look into some of those journal back-up services. Not that I don't have all the really important things saved already, but it's the funny/stupid stuff and the comment chats I would miss should LJ implode like that again.
