I can see why the powers that be made some of changes they did when the series was broadcast in the states in the mid-90s. Levin never would have passed the ratings people. So best fix for Levin they could come up with, make him female and ditch the armor lust. Seriously. Levin even says in one of the first 5 or so episodes that D-Boy can have his way with him, as long as he wears the Tekkaman armor at the time.
I need a scouring pad for my brain now.
The seiyuu list is actually pretty decent. D-Boy's seiyuu is the guy that does the voice of Sephiroth in KH, and FF7:AC. And Aki's voiced by Megumi Hayashibara, surpise that is not. And I vaguely recall seeing Koyasu (or however he spells it, Aya-kun from Weiß) for a character later in the series. I was too lazy to check the rest though.

Date: 2007-02-22 02:27 am (UTC)Koyasu Takehito is Tekkaman Evil, later indeed.
I'm so totally glad that they decided to release this series. My scattered raw episodes on VHS just can't compare.

Date: 2007-02-22 03:15 am (UTC)I was over the moon when I heard this was finally being released. And the quality on the DVDs is pretty decent. It's obvious the show's old, but it looks like they took a little time to clean it up, or at the very least someone stored the originals well.
