I was going to post something fun

But on a whim I was scurrying around offical and author maintained sites for some of my favorite authors. I was going to post about how impressed I am with the restoration done to Voltron for the upcoming release of the DVDs, but in light of the news I just dug up, I really can't blather on about that right now. If you're curious though head here and scroll down to the pictures.
Melissa Scott and Lisa Barnett have been a favorite author team of mine for ages.
madamhydra pointed me to their 'Points' series back in like 2000 and I was hooked and waiting, rather impatiently, for the third book.
Then in 2003-ish I noticed an entry on their site that Lisa was in treatment for breast cancer. I didn't think anything of it until Spring 2004 that a cancer cell has sneaked up to her brain. Everything seemed well until this winter when it became apparent that the cancer was winning and the treatments were doing more harm than good.
Now here is where I get a bit angry with myself for some stupid reason. I had been checking Lisa's blog and not seeing any entries past late April in early summer didn't think anything of it, and went back to whatever I was doing. I just checked again tonight and was suprised to see that there still hadn't been any posts. So I popped over to Melissa Scott's blog to see what was up with her, only to find that Lisa died on May 2nd.
I think I'm going to go back and reread the 'Points' books and 'Armor of Light' rather than going through my pile of new stuff.
